The Doll Studios – Vendor Rules & Standards

The Doll Studios is a curated online marketplace created to support professional doll artists, studios, sculptors, and creators within the doll artist and collector community.

Our goal is to provide collectors with a trusted, high-quality space to shop with confidence while allowing artists to present their work with integrity, transparency, and professionalism.

All vendors selling products or publishing content on The Doll Studios agree to comply with the standards outlined below. Failure to follow these rules may result in listing removal, account suspension, or permanent removal from the platform.

1. Who May Sell on The Doll Studios

Approved vendors may sell doll-related products, including but not limited to:

  • Finished silicone dolls
  • Finished vinyl reborn dolls
  • OOAK (one-of-a-kind) dolls
  • Blank doll kits (silicone or vinyl)
  • Dollmaking supplies and components
  • Artist-made clothing, props, and accessories
  • Patterns and non-video digital products related to doll artistry

Educational and instructional video content is available to Tier 2 vendors only.

Vendors may offer one or multiple product types from a single storefront, provided all listings meet the standards outlined in these rules.

2. Vendor Onboarding & Subscription Billing

Tier 2 Marketplace Subscription vendors are enrolled in automatic monthly billing at the time of subscription. Subscription fees are processed automatically through the payment method connected to the vendor’s account.

Vendors are responsible for maintaining a valid payment method. If a subscription payment fails, Tier 2 features — including auction access and video content — may be temporarily suspended or the account downgraded to Tier 1 until payment is resolved. Repeated failed payments may result in account suspension at the platform’s discretion.

3. Authenticity & Authorization

Vendors are fully responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to sell or distribute all items and content they list.

Blank Kits & Components

Vendors may sell blank kits they sculpt themselves or kits created by other sculptors only if authorized.

Listings must clearly identify:

  • Original sculptor
  • Sculpt name
  • Edition information (if applicable)

Certificates of Authenticity (COA) must be included when applicable.

Finished Dolls

Finished doll listings must clearly disclose:

  • Sculpt name
  • Original sculptor
  • Finishing artist

Vendors may only sell dolls they personally finished or are legally authorized to sell.

4. Prohibited Items & Practices

The following are strictly prohibited on The Doll Studios:

  • Counterfeit, recast, or unauthorized kits
  • Misrepresentation of sculpt origin or artist
  • Factory-made dolls sold as artist work
  • Use of stolen, stock, or borrowed photos
  • Mislabeling silicone vs. vinyl
  • False edition, rarity, or authenticity claims
  • AI-generated product images
  • Any items or content that infringe on intellectual property rights

Listings found in violation may be removed immediately and may result in account termination.

5. AI-Assisted Content & Authenticity

Vendors may use AI tools to assist with spelling, grammar, formatting, organization, and general content refinement.

However, AI tools may not be used to:

  • Generate product images or listing photos
  • Create instructional, educational, or tutorial content that is presented as hands-on experience the vendor does not possess
  • Fabricate processes, techniques, credentials, or artistic involvement
  • Misrepresent authorship, originality, or expertise

All listings, descriptions, and content must accurately reflect the vendor’s actual work, knowledge, and involvement. AI assistance does not replace the requirement for honesty, transparency, and authenticity.

6. Marketplace Curation & Quality Standards

The Doll Studios is a curated, artist-focused marketplace. It is intentionally designed to showcase high-quality doll artistry and related products and is not intended to function as a general resale site, flea market, or bulk liquidation platform.

All listings must align with elevated standards of craftsmanship, originality, presentation, and professionalism.

Accessories, Clothing & Non-Doll Items

Accessories, clothing, props, and related items are permitted only when they meet the same quality and presentation standards as dolls and kits.

Approved items must be:

  • Artist-made, boutique, or professionally produced
  • Created specifically for sale (not personal or household resale)
  • Clearly relevant to doll artistry, collecting, or display
  • Presented with professional-quality photos and accurate descriptions

The following are not permitted:

  • Personal resale items or closet clean-outs
  • Secondhand household goods
  • Low-effort or low-quality listings
  • Items listed primarily to offload unrelated or surplus inventory

Approval of a vendor account does not guarantee approval of all listings.

7. Listing & Photography Standards

All listings must accurately represent the item being sold.

  • Photos must be of the actual item, well-lit, and unfiltered
  • Finished doll listings should include multiple angles and close-ups
  • No misleading edits, enhancements, or photo manipulation
  • Photos may not be reused from other sellers or platforms

8. Image Protection & Listing Integrity

Vendors are strongly encouraged to watermark all public listing images to reduce unauthorized use, impersonation, and fraud.

Listings that display unprotected, high-resolution images may present increased risk to buyers and to the marketplace as a whole. The Doll Studios reserves the right to request updated images or remove listings that materially compromise marketplace integrity or buyer trust.

Detailed watermarking guidance and free tools are available in the Vendor Resources section.

9. Description Requirements

Listings must clearly and accurately state:

  • Materials
  • Size
  • Hair type
  • Eye type (if applicable)
  • What is included and what is not included in the sale

Descriptions must be complete, truthful, and easy for buyers to understand.

10. Vendor Responsibilities & Customer Communication

Vendors are solely responsible for managing their own sales and customer relationships, including:

  • Responding to buyer messages in a timely and professional manner
  • Fulfilling orders within the stated timeframe
  • Providing accurate tracking information
  • Handling shipping, insurance, and delivery
  • Addressing buyer questions, concerns, or issues directly

The Doll Studios does not act as an intermediary between vendors and buyers.

11. Payments, Shipping & Disputes

All payments are processed directly to the vendor through the vendor’s connected payment processor (such as PayPal or Stripe).

The Doll Studios does not hold vendor funds and does not process refunds on behalf of vendors.

Disputes & Complaints

The Doll Studios does not moderate, mediate, or resolve routine customer disputes. Vendors are expected to work directly with buyers and comply with applicable payment processor policies.

12. Off-Platform Transactions & Fee Avoidance

All transactions originating on The Doll Studios must be completed through the platform checkout system.

Vendors may not:

  • Direct buyers to off-platform payment methods
  • Request or accept payment via PayPal Friends & Family, Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, or similar services
  • Encourage buyers to bypass platform checkout to avoid fees

Violations may result in listing removal, suspension, or termination of vendor accounts.

13. Auction Listings (Tier 2 Vendors Only)

Auction listings must be accurate, complete, and intentional.

Bids are binding. Failure by a buyer to complete payment may result in account restrictions or permanent loss of bidding privileges.

The Doll Studios does not guarantee buyer payment.

14. Video & Digital Content Rules (Tier 2 Vendors Only)

All video and digital content must be original work created by the vendor.

Video and digital content is provided for individual, personal use only and may not be downloaded, recorded, shared, resold, sublicensed, or redistributed.

Unauthorized sharing or misuse may result in immediate account termination and loss of Tier 2 access.

15. Professional Conduct & Platform Representation

The Doll Studios is a professional marketplace.

Vendors are expected to:

  • Communicate respectfully with buyers and the platform
  • Conduct business honestly and professionally
  • Maintain high standards of quality and integrity

Vendor participation does not constitute endorsement, partnership, agency, or representation by The Doll Studios. Vendors may not present themselves as employees, agents, or official representatives of the platform.

Vendors may not use The Doll Studios name or branding in a manner that implies official endorsement or sponsorship beyond identifying the marketplace where an item is listed.

16. Enforcement, Discretion & Platform Rights

The Doll Studios reserves the right to:

  • Approve or deny vendor applications
  • Review listings and content at any time
  • Request proof of authenticity or ownership
  • Remove listings or content that violate these rules
  • Restrict, suspend, or terminate vendor accounts

The platform may take action against listings or accounts that, while not violating a single rule, present repeated issues, elevated risk, or harm to marketplace integrity, buyer trust, or platform reputation.

17. Policy Updates

The Doll Studios may update these Vendor Rules & Standards as the marketplace evolves. Vendors are responsible for reviewing updates and remaining in compliance with current policies.

18. Agreement

By selling products or publishing content on The Doll Studios, vendors acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with these Vendor Rules & Standards.
