The Doll Studios is committed to supporting authentic, original work within the doll artist and collector community.
We actively work to prevent counterfeit, recast, and unauthorized items from appearing on the marketplace and to maintain standards that respect the work of sculptors, doll artists, reborn artists, kit producers, and legitimate studios.
By prioritizing authenticity and artist integrity, we aim to protect collectors while ensuring creators are properly recognized and supported for their work.
How the Marketplace Works
The Doll Studios operates as a platform, not a seller.
- All items are listed and sold by independent vendors
- Vendors control their own storefronts, listings, pricing, shipping, and customer communication
- Buyers purchase directly from vendors and are encouraged to review listings carefully before purchasing or bidding
This structure allows artists to operate independently while providing collectors with a centralized, trusted marketplace experience.
Vendor Tiers, Pricing & Access
No hidden fees. No fine print.
The Doll Studios offers two clearly defined vendor tiers so artists can choose the selling model that best fits their goals. Pricing and access are intentionally transparent — vendors always know what they are getting, what it costs, and how they are paid.
Vendors always retain control over their pricing, listings, and business decisions.
Tier 1 — Standard Vendor (Free)
$0 monthly fee
Tier 1 allows artists to sell on The Doll Studios with no subscription cost.
This tier is ideal for artists who prefer traditional fixed-price listings and do not wish to use auctions.
With Tier 1 access, vendors can:
- Create and manage their own storefront
- List fixed-price products
- Set their own pricing and shop policies
- Communicate directly with buyers
- Receive payments directly through their own PayPal account
Tier 1 sales are subject to a 7% platform commission on completed fixed-price transactions.
Tier 2 — Marketplace Subscription Vendor
$39 per month
Tier 2 is designed for vendors who want greater visibility, higher engagement, and expanded selling tools.
With Tier 2 access, vendors receive:
- Exclusive ability to create and run auction listings
- Priority visibility for live auctions within the marketplace
- A reduced platform commission of 3%
- Access to premium marketplace tools as they are released
- Payments sent directly to the vendor through their own PayPal account
Auctions are available exclusively to Tier 2 vendors.
For many active sellers, the reduced commission alone can offset the monthly subscription while unlocking auction access and expanded visibility.
Featured Artist Placement (Tier 2 Eligibility)
Tier 2 vendors may be eligible for optional Featured Artist placement within the marketplace.
Featured placement is designed to increase visibility by highlighting select artists or studios more prominently across certain areas of the site. This may include priority display locations or curated featured sections intended to support discovery.
Important notes regarding Featured Artist placement:
- Featured placement is not automatic and is offered at the discretion of The Doll Studios
- Placement may be time-limited and subject to rotation
- Featured status increases visibility but does not guarantee sales
- Featured placement does not imply endorsement, exclusivity, or preferential treatment
Featured placement is a visibility tool — not a ranking system — and is used thoughtfully to maintain a balanced and curated marketplace.
Artist-Friendly Fees
The Doll Studios was built with a conscious decision to support independent creators.
We intentionally keep platform commissions lower than many established marketplaces so artists can retain more of their earnings while still supporting platform stability, tools, and continued development.
Payments & Vendor Earnings
All payments are processed directly to the vendor through the vendor’s own PayPal account.
- Vendors connect their PayPal/Stripe account during onboarding
- Funds are paid directly to the vendor
- The Doll Studios does not hold vendor funds
- The platform does not delay, control, or restrict payouts
Payment processing fees charged by PayPal/Stripe are separate from platform commissions.
Your sales income is your money — paid directly to you.
